DescriptionDennis Hare’s work evolved from expressionist figuration to richly textured abstraction and assemblage, but always retained a deep sensitivity to human presence.
"The Strand," is set along a strand of sand between a canal and a beach. Each figure seems to look inward, lost in their own thoughts, although they are lined up along the strand for some reason – fishing? Sightseeing? ,This painting is infused with the quiet drama of human solitude and (dis)connection.
