DescriptionCapturing a misty view of the beach, bluffs and boats, this masterful watercolor by Rex Brandt awakens memories of sand, water and fun. Brandt spent his youth in San Diego and Riverside. At age thirteen, he attended summer classes at the Chouinard School of Art in Los Angeles. He also attended Riverside Junior College (now Riverside City College) and then continued his studies at the UC Berkeley, where he earned a bachelor of arts degree in 1936.
Brandt was one of the best known of the California watercolor painters, and his works and exhibitions helped bring national attention to California artists over the course of his long life.
