DescriptionPhil's inspiration came from the scenes of coastal California and the overall power of their force, from and beauty but also the fragments found along the beaches were even more inspirational. The shell, stone and wood pieces he picked up found their way to his desk and in this photo we see him working on a painting while viewing these seas fragments and being inspired. His later works dive deeply into textures, patterns and colors of individual rocks and shells where he enlarges these forms as though looking through a magnifying glass and exploding the images.
